4 Things We Believe About Baptism:

  • Baptism is for anyone who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Baptism doesn’t make you a follower of Jesus. Rather, it is a public. declaration of something that has already happened in you when you put your faith in Jesus for your salvation.
  • Baptism is a step of obedience. Jesus said his followers should be baptized (Matthew 28). We show that we are following Him by doing what He says.
  • Baptism is following Jesus’ example. He was baptized (Matthew 3) as an example for us to follow.
  • Baptism is a picture of the Gospel. We are identifying with Jesus’ death and resurrection to forgive us. The water is a picture of us turning over our old life and beginning a new life in Christ.

Wondering if baptism is your next step?

The baptism process at Springbrook is designed to be both simple and meaningful. Contact us to get the conversation started.

Do I have to make a video? One of the most powerful aspects of baptism at Springbrook Community Church is the video testimony shown right before your baptism. Baptism is a public profession of an inward reality, and the video allows you to share how Christ has been working in your life.

What about infant baptism/christening? While we recognize the right of other churches to practice infant christening, we understand Scripture to teach that only professing believers qualify for baptism. Baptism does not make you a believer, rather it shows that you already believe.
