4 Things We Believe About Baptism:
- Baptism is for anyone who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Baptism doesn’t make you a follower of Jesus. Rather, it is a public. declaration of something that has already happened in you when you put your faith in Jesus for your salvation.
- Baptism is a step of obedience. Jesus said his followers should be baptized (Matthew 28). We show that we are following Him by doing what He says.
- Baptism is following Jesus’ example. He was baptized (Matthew 3) as an example for us to follow.
- Baptism is a picture of the Gospel. We are identifying with Jesus’ death and resurrection to forgive us. The water is a picture of us turning over our old life and beginning a new life in Christ.

FAQ:
Do I have to make a video? One of the most powerful aspects of baptism at Springbrook Community Church is the video testimony shown right before your baptism. Baptism is a public profession of an inward reality, and the video allows you to share how Christ has been working in your life.
What about infant baptism/christening? While we recognize the right of other churches to practice infant christening, we understand Scripture to teach that only professing believers qualify for baptism. Baptism does not make you a believer, rather it shows that you already believe.
