Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Matt felt God leading him into ministry as a High School student. After graduating from college, he served a church in St. Louis County and eventually landed in Chicagoland in 1990 serving two different churches in the South Suburbs. He has been at Springbrook since 2004. Matt and Rachel have been married 39 years, and Rachel is Director of Education at Trinity Christian School in Shorewood. They have two married sons, Caleb, and Zach, both of whom live in Texas. He and Rachel have four grandchildren. When they aren’t working, they love to travel and have visited 49 of the 50 states.

Arts, Operations & Communications Pastor

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, John served churches in Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma before moving to Illinois for ministry. He’s been on staff at Springbrook since 2005 and has a heart for using his gifts to make a difference in worship arts at SCC and in the community. He loves meeting new people and is passionate about connecting with others and building relational bridges to encourage them in their next step in faith. When he isn’t planning and organizing, he loves attending live theater, movies, marching arts, and going on cruises with his wife, Leigh. John and Leigh have been married 39 years and have three adult children, Todd, Katie, and Scott, and a 4-year-old grandson named Max.

Julie grew up in the Chicagoland area and likes to joke that she has been at Springbrook “for a million years.” Not only did she find Jesus here, but she also found her husband of 39 years, John! With a background in education, children’s ministry was an easy fit, and after many years of volunteering, Julie came on board full time in 2005. Julie also loves connecting with people, which makes Adult Connections Director a natural role for her. She has two married sons, Jeremy and Jordan, and her greatest joy these days is being Grandma to Cooper and Addison.

Becky grew up in an Army family and spent her childhood years moving all over the U.S. and overseas. Despite having grown up most everywhere except the Midwest, she has been in the Chicagoland area for almost 30 years. Apart of Springbrook since 1999, Becky has served in many capacities over the years, including the Women's Ministry and Student Ministry. Becky is passionate about discipleship and the opportunity to help people seek God, love the Bible, and take steps of faith. When she isn't reading or listening to podcasts, she loves to travel with her husband of 28 years, Jeff. Becky and Jeff have two adult sons, Jacob and Owen.

Born and raised in a small town in Northeast Missouri, Justin moved to Chicagoland in 2010 after spending several years in the St. Louis area. He and his family began attending Springbrook in January 2024, never imagining that God would soon open the door for him to step into student ministry. Having experienced firsthand the impact of others investing in him as a teenager, Justin is passionate about creating a place where students belong before they believe and helping them discover they can make a difference right now. Justin and his wife, Ingrid, have been married for 12 years and have a daughter, Eleanor, and a dog, Stanley. He enjoys traveling, roller coasters, video games, and cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and Blues (but don't hold that against him!).
