The Book of Psalms is a collection of prayers, poems, and hymns that have been read and sung by God’s people for thousands of years. Behind the scenes of each Psalm is a person, most often King David, pouring out their feelings to God as they deal with day to day life. As we get to know the stories behind the Psalms, we can have the same confidence the Psalmists did in the marvelous God we worship who hears and understands all of our prayers.
